God’s Care: Healing and Forgiveness (#940)
Good morning. Here we are on Resurrection Sunday, Easter Sunday, on the first of April in 2018. Last session we talked about eternal life and the resurrection and the many, many verses related to that. Today we’re going to focus on another aspect of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, which is the healing and forgiveness that was involved in that. A very important thing. As we know much of Christianity people end up being critical, judgemental, attack each other and attack everybody they don’t like and that seems to be their entire focus. You know spend a day working in Washington, DC and you’ll find that out; and it is unfortunate because the great emphasis in the scriptures is on the healing and forgiveness that comes through Jesus Christ. And you all probably heard me say this many times, but I think there is two approaches to Christianity: you either spend your time focusing on the sins of man or focus on the deliverance from sin that the lord Jesus Christ brought for us. So, we can sit around here talking about who is the greatest sinner, and who messed this up and who messed that up, and that is the great party that people like to do, they love to talk about how their group is better than another group because they don’t do these terrible, nasty, things that somebody did and that is all they focus on, or the main thing they focus on. And it ends up in political movements, it ends up in cultural movements, it ends up in them telling you and can’t talk to these people because they are weird, and it goes on and on. And oftentimes they are other Christians. But we don’t focus on that, we focus on the great deliverance that Jesus Christ provides. So, let’s go to Exodus chapter 12.

God’s Abundance: Healing, Part 2 (#928)
Good morning! Today we are going to look at part two of our session on healing. And again, this is within the context of the general topic we’ve been studying for many weeks: God’s Abundance. That what God gives, He gives in abundance; He doesn’t give stintingly, He doesn’t give tiny amounts, He gives in abundance. He always provides what we need and usually quite a bit more. So, we’re going to continue on healing; let’s start in Matthew chapter 10…

God’s Abundance: Healing, Part 1 (#927)
Today we’ll continue our series on God’s Abundance by looking at healing. Healing is one of the most..; we’ll there is so many interesting things in the history of Christianity, because people love to argue so much about everything. Healing is one of them. Some people think healing died with the Apostles and God no longer heals people; so it’s not important. Other people think it’s the only important thing in Christianity, and if you’re not continually healing blind people and raising the dead. there is something very wrong with you. Everybody has different views and opinions on it, but as usual rather than spend all our time arguing over peoples different opinions, other that to state that people have them. We’ll go straight the the Word and see what the Word says. And what I will say in summary is: I have seen the greatest success when people do what the Word says, which is to pray, which is to fill their mind with the Word of God, which is to operate the manifestations of holy spirit and expect healing. And at the same time, use their common sense to do what they can in the senses realm: eat well, exercise, go to the doctor regularly, do what the doctor says, and I have have doing that for years. People have often asked me: should I pray and believe God for healing or should I take medical advice, and eat well? And I say, yes. Do all of the above. And that is was I try to do. And I’m convinced that there are times when I’m healthy simply because I pray, and try to keep my mind filled with the Word. I am convinced there times I’m healthy because I’m eating well and taking the medicine my doctor told me to. From day to day I don’t always know from which it is that’s helping me, but I do both. There is nothing in the scripture saying it is evil to eat well, exercise, and listen to your doctor. Although you’ll find Christians that say it is. And then you’ll find Christians that say certain types of organic food are godly and certain kinds of processed food aren’t godly. And I just sort of chuckle at that, because there is nothing in the Bible that talks about what’s organic, what’s vegan, and fertilizers; it is just not in the Bible. Now it maybe true, that a certain kind of food is healthier than another type; and that is OK and you eat the best way you feel you can eat. But don’t try to tell me you’re more Biblical or more Christian because you’ve got a granola that doesn’t have an additive in it and mine does. So, I’m not saying this to discourage you from finding the healthiest food you can, I’m just saying let’s separate what is good common sense advice, whether is is from medical, or nutrition, or exercise and what the Word says. The Word is very, very clear that as we fill are minds with the Word, pray, and operate the manifestations of holy spirit it will lead to tremendous vibrant health. And that is what we’ll talk about today. But we also know from experience, and we’ve all lived a few years, that people that eat better, exercise more, and take the advice of their doctor, they also tend to do much better long term. So, before we dive into the Word I want to be very clear; I’m recommending both. It is up to every person how much they want to trust medical science, how much they want to trust nutritional science, how much they want to trust exercise science. Everybody has that choice, and I’m not going to tell you what the best thing is for you. You probably all experienced things, talked to experts, read books, and you have your own views on that and I would encourage you to continue learning and growing in all of those areas. I think especially as we get older, putting the time into learning in the senses realm what keeps you healthy is very, very wise. Just because God’s made it available let’s take advantage of it. At the same time, operating the power of God is far, far, far greater. It is just, if you don’t have to have a miracle to overcome something that you could of easily overcome by taking a vitamin, or taking a walk every day; why not just take the vitamin and take the walk — or whatever else physically may help you? And then save your focus and your prayer and believing on those areas where medical science can’t help. Because we all know that medical science and nutrition and all those things are not going to solve every problem. They’ll solve a lot of them, but we know the power of God can solve anything. So with that brief introduction, which I felt was important because this is such a controversial topic that people that we’ve known in fellowship for years will argue about and have their own opinions, let alone all the fights and arguments that have gone on in history of Christianity for two thousand years, just a very controversial topic. So, let’s put the controversy aside now and let’s dive into God’s Word and see what it says. We’ll start in Genesis chapter 20…
